Englewood Rotary Foundation
Englewood Rotary Foundation
The Englewood Rotary Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes the ideals of Rotary, including Community Service, Vocational Service and International Service.
As part of its mission, the Foundation has created a corpus with the sole intent of using the interest, income and dividends from the corpus to fund scholarships for post-high school students to continue their education. Over the years, significant contributions to the corpus have been made by, or in memory of, Weldon Kite, Frank and Janet Volker, Walter Ehrlich, Richard Dittemore, Cecil Watkins, and the Fenner Foundation, on behalf of Dick and Rhondda Hartman.
The Englewood Rotary Club, at the suggestion of Dr. Frank Sargent, began funding scholarships for post-high school academic and vocational training in 1972. In the early years, the club funded two $250 scholarships. Today, the club awards scholarships worth $1000.
Since the year 2000, the Englewood Rotary Foundation has funded over $150,000 in college scholarships, and provided over 100 individuals with scholarships of $1,000 or more.
