I went to District Conference, and all I brought back was. . .
Rotarians, I was the sole representative of our club at the District Conference Saturday. I loved seeing old friends from other clubs and district committees on which I served. (Lots of Joe Biden hugs, by the way.) A long hallway at the Arvada Center lined with displays of club projects and causes was inspiring. There was a big "feel good" to being part of all that.
I helped staff the display for Rotarians for Mental Health. We're encouraging clubs to adopt projects that educate the public on mental health issues, needs and resources. Our District has had a strong focus on mental health for the last maybe five years. The keynote speaker Saturday was Andrew Romanoff, who shared a personal story of his cousin's suicide. Most of us have a worrisome story about mental health.
(Of course, did I mentioned I retired Friday?)

We are short on our goal
of $4,500 in giving
to the Annual Fund
It was a very ambitious goal, especially as we have fewer members these days. Good news is we have several very loyal givers and that makes our contribution equivalent to $116 per member.
But we're at $3,120 and we need to get to $4,500, or at least closer. As you know, Annual Fund giving this year is the source of how much grant money the District gives out three years hence. So it's important, and we have sought grant money every year for at least the last 12 years.
So if you would like to contribute, please bring a check tomorrow made out to The Rotary Foundation. I will send it in with proper paperwork. Or, you can contribute online with a credit card at rotary.org. For obvious reasons, the DONATE button is rather prominent!
The club can match your gift with "points" toward the next level Paul Harris Fellow. I can tell you how close you are at the meeting, or by email.
Thanks, Patty
