MESSAGE FROM

Rotarians, we have an extraordinary program this week. Linda and Bruce Spear will be sharing their experiences in Antarctica. Ironically, they were "frozen out" of an earlier date by a snowstorm.
I also have asked our member Don Schneider to make comments on the crisis in Ukraine. Don and Karen were Peace Corps volunteers in Ukraine. As we all are horrified at the Russian invasion, and the worst that is still to come, Don surely has deeper feelings and perspective.
On the service front: Bob and I and Spencer delivered plants to Porter Place and the Brookdale Meridian last week. Arvada Rotary organizes the opportunity for this "good deed."
They collect plants that had been on display at the Denver Home and Garden Show. On Monday morning the three of us then picked up over 100 plants from a huge truck in the parking lot at Mile High Stadium.
When my mother was in independent living at St. Andrew's Village, she looked forward to the plants delivery, done by an Aurora Rotary club. And so we hope we pleased others with our deliveries.
On the fun side of things I will be in western attire tomorrow. It's Texas Independence Day! Yee-ha! Join me, if you wish.
