BREAKING NEWS. . .
Actually, Bob and I, as former journalists, hate the gross misuse of that term on cable television. When we hear it, one of usually says, "No, it's not!" Because what once was a true alert now is just a gimmick.
That said, I have breaking news for Englewood Rotary. Our scheduled field trip to Denver Botanic Gardens this week is cancelled because of the forecast for very cold and possibly snowy weather.
President Susan has rescheduled it for Saturday, Jan. 9, at 4:30 p.m. We have six tickets that haven't been spoken for, so if the new date works for you, please email me, paburnett@aol.com. There is no cost for our newest (last two years) members, as we hope to encourage you to join us.
Each year the Gardens present "Blossoms of Light," an ever-changing light show along the gardens' pathways. It's beautiful. So c'mon down.
Now here's almost-breaking news: There's no Zoom meeting this week. That was always the plan, but you might have thought, well, if there's no field trip, maybe there's a meeting. Nope. No meeting this week.
Now here's something for your calendars: We're having a Fantastic, Amazing Zoom Holiday Party with entertainment! Stand-up comedian Nancy Norton will be regaling us.
Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. Thank you, Linda Spear for your creative brainwork on this! Linda and Bruce even have party favors for us! There is no cost. You'll be hearing more in the next week. -- Patty
