Hope everyone had a great Fourth. I spent the weekend harvesting wheat in Kansas so the whole country can enjoy bread with their meals.
We look forward on Wednesday to hearing Natalie Dow tell us about her year as an exchange student in Peru.
Peach sales are ongoing. Deadline for submitting orders is Aug. 3. We are working toward setting up sales tables at Brookdale Meridian and a Friends of Gueoul fundraiser in Wheat Ridge.
Lots of stuff coming up in July (see schedule below): Peach sales, Backpacks for Bishop School, Senegal and military projects in high gear, special meeting at Ed’s house July 18.
We are awaiting approval of district grant requests for the Senegal and military projects.
Upcoming Meetings & Events
JULY 14: Friends of Gueoul Fundraiser, Wheat Ridge. See Judy or gueoul.org. A Rotary table will be set up to pitch peach sales and the wine tasting fundraiser in September.
JULY 18: Special meeting at Ed’s place, 6-8 PM serving appetizers & wine. Agenda (A) “Plans for Club Growth During Next Year” and (B) to form one Super Planning Committee. Please consider volunteering (Don Schneider, Patty, have volunteered). There will be no fund soliciting involved.
JULY 25: Regular Meeting. Our speaker will be Sandy Mortensen, our new District Governor.

We had a lovely evening at Patty and Bob's, celebrating the close of Patty's two years as president and Ed's new leadership.

Englewood Rotary does our part: We read to the children at Bishop School, we fill backpacks with school supplies, we help the families of Head Start preschool children in Englewood and Littleton, we are in Senegal as a partner to Friends of Gueoul, helping girls especially to stay in school and to learn English.
