Today we are honoring past member David Lee at the Greater Englewood Chamber of Commerce Service Club lunch. It's at 11:30 at The Meridian. We should add up how many tons of food David has unloaded for the Well Fed weekend meal program in Englewood Schools! It truly is tons. He also shares a Meals on Wheels route with past member Bob Burdick, and he serves on a major committee at Hope United Methodist Church. And we'll hear about all the rest he does at lunch today. We have a sizable group attending.
With the luncheon today, that means tomorrow we are dark at the Wellshire.
Next week is also a little different. We will be deepening our friendships in Rotary fellowship with a happy hour meeting at the Rock Restaurant and Grill, 22934 E. Smoky Hill Road, Aurora. Jerry Orlovsky is organizing this. Please RSVP to Jerry: gorlovsky@csbt.com. There will be no lunch meeting at the Wellshire on Nov. 5.
Sounds like two weeks of great fun and appreciation of Rotary.
Fellowship is important to Rotary. We deepen our friendships and that translates into deeper connections to our mission of Service Above Self.
Eight of us gathered on Oct. 22 to see the installations of Chihuly glass at the Denver Botanic Gardens. The spot-lighted and interior-lighted glass was amazing. Afterwards, we dined together at the "captain's table" at Brio in Cherry Creek. The group was Bruce and Linda, Josh, Dawn, Susan, Larry, Patty and Bob. We agreed our club enjoys our social occasions.
