No meeting this week, folks
We scheduled it this way so more of us might be inspired to attend the district conference on Saturday. It's at the Arvada Center. You can still sign up.
Saturday Full Conference: $125 per person (9:00 am - 9:00 pm)
First Time Attendee: $99 per person (9:00 am - 9:00 pm)
Saturday Lunch & Program: $75 per person (9:00 am - 5:00 pm)
Saturday Dinner & Program: $75 per person (5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
This is such a wonderful opportunity to "feel Rotary." You feel your connection to other people who share your values, including Service Above Self. And you learn how other Rotarians are solving problems in their communities and the world.
I hope more of you will join me on Saturday.

We're helping send more kids
to college!
Here's a report from our Foundation President Josh:
The Englewood Rotary Foundation's college scholarship program was established, in 1972, with a firm conviction that a community gains strength through education of its citizens. The scholarships are made available from the Englewood Rotary Foundation, which is funded by community fund-raising activities and contributions from Englewood Rotarians.
This year we interviewed 19 high school applicants, 12 from Englewood High School (EHS) and 7 from Colorado's Finest High School of Choice (CFHSC). From this outstanding group of students we awarded 8 scholarships, for $1,000 each, as follows:
Carlos Martinez (EHS)
Grace Underwood (CFHSC)
Terrell Padilla (EHS)
Sareina Thomas-Lowery (CFHSC)
Chelsea Langley (EHS)
Rusa Berisa (EHS)
Caitlyn Walz (EHS)
James Martinez (CFHSC)
The awards will be presented to students at their high school awards ceremony on May 10th (CFHSC) and May 13th (EHS). Scholarship recipients will also be honored at an Englewood Rotary luncheon on June 5th.
Thank you to club members who interviewed these students: Josh, Vee, Dawn, Bruce and Mike. It's inspiring to hear how accomplished the students are, in many cases despite family hardship. But it's hard to make the choices.
And our work aligns
with our next speaker's
On May 1st we will hear from Joe Roos, a Highlands Ranch Rotarian and founder of Hide in Plain Sight, an organization striving to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty through education -- and scholarships. See? We've got a lot in common.
