I was in awe of my Grandmother because she was born in the 1800s and lived to see a new century come into existence. The agricultural society was giving way to the industrial revolution. She experienced electric lights and telephones as a first in human experience. She saw the first man land on the moon! I wondered if I would ever cross a century and see new things.
Now I'm living in a new century. I've lived to cross over one marker in time to another.
Will I give up on money and use virtual money? Hmmm, not too appealing to me! Flying cars? Really? What advances in human kind and civilization will I witness?
How do we plan for these changes and make appropriate development decisions? Who has the vision? Perhaps, this weeks speaker, Daniel Poremba, Chief Redevelopment Officer of Englewood, will share his dreams, visions, Magic 8 Ball with us this Wednesday. What will we see in our lifetime in Englewood of the 21st century?

SELL PEACHES!!!!
We have fewer members these days, and that means fewer sellers of peaches. Each one of us needs to sell more this year than last so that we can fund some good works this Rotary year.
Have you sent emails? I find it's best to provide the link to the website, www.rotaryclubofenglewood.org, and encourage people to pay with their credit cards online. I offer to deliver the peaches to those who might find it difficult to make the drive to Englewood on our distribution day. Or I take a few boxes to church for my church friends.
Have you mined your e-mail contacts? Have you pitched your peaches on Nextdoor?
Here's the rah rah: Sell peaches, Rotarians! Go Rotarians! Siss boom bah!
