We welcome our esteemed District Governor this week
District 5450 is blessed with this amazing leader, Abbas Rajabi. When he speaks to our club tomorrow, I know you will understand why I say "amazing."
Frank reminds me of the protocols for a visiting District Governor. When he goes to the podium, we stand and applaud. Likewise, when he finishes his talk, we stand and applaud.
Please wear your Rotary pins and other logo garb.
We're in for a treat from a man who lives and breathes Service Above Self.

P.S. The Clubrunner program for this bulletin sometimes makes me a little crazy. I have no idea how to get rid of the Click Me! button below. It goes nowhere. Sorry.
Ed Koerperich had a great idea for fund-raising, and he's making it happen. We'll be socializing, which our club does so well, over wine. And we'll have five blind tastings conducted by wine experts Ed has lured, one from California.
We really need members to invite friends to this event, which, if we get to 40 persons, will yield $2,000 for our good deeds.
The event is Sunday, Nov. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the home of Ed's daughter, 2273 W. Parkhill Ave., Littleton 80120. The cost is $50 a person, and couples are asked to bring one bottle of wine to be consumed during the party.
Ed is getting some family help to do an evite, which you will be receiving soon. Please forward it to friends and business acquaintances. We need wine drinkers! and surely we know some beyond our club membership.
So, plan on it. Sign up with Ed and bring some friends.

Thanks to golf volunteers
and golfers
The United Service Clubs of Englewood, of which we are a part, hosted "The Englewood Cup" golf tournament Friday.
Thank you, Josh and Jane Staller, for being Silver Sponsors and golfing with friends that day. Bruce also golfed and volunteered. Thank you, too, Bob Fritz, for volunteering at the tournament. And thank you, Bob Burdick, for rounding up some fun auction items, including a replica of a woman's four-inch spiked heel with Broncos logo, just the right size for holding a bottle of Elway wine. (You had to be there. . . )
We are awaiting the financial results. Our club was due to earn 30% of the profits. We hope this will be a prototype fund-raiser we can build on.
Service Club Lunch
The Great Englewood Chamber of Commerce will host a lunch honoring service clubs and schools and police/fire departments. Sorry for the late notice, but I just got the date. It will be Oct. 31. I'm guessing the time is 11:30 to 1:30, but I'll update the web page when I get that for use.
We will need to nominate a member or member of our community to be recognized for outstanding service. Please let me know your suggestions.
